Everywhere I turn I am seeing articles on strategic storytelling published in the practitioner literature. Of course, storytelling is top-of-mind for me this quarter as I’m leading a Freshman Seminar on Strategic Storytelling. In this course, I am introducing students to the strategy of strategic storytelling and how organizations — and individuals — can, and do, use it to help achieve various objectives. Students will develop their critical thinking skills through storytelling analysis, as well as engage in some hands-on application of key ideas.
We are working our way through Jonah Sachs’ book, “Winning the Story Wars.” It was difficult to find a book that explored just what I was after. This book is now a few years old, but I think it provides a good entree into our topic.
